Assistant coach of Ocean Boys Football Club of  Brass Timi Akosoboh  is  optimistic that  his side will defeat Heartland of Owerri FC when both teams meet on Sunday at  the Yenagoa Township Stadium.

Akosoboh said they are battle ready for the match and ensure they  defeat Heartland to help them escape relegation this season. They are just one step above relegation zone, with 39 points from 33 matches and on the 16th position

“Getting the Federation Cup ticket this season is our main target. And because of this the boys have been warned not  to throw away opportunities to the visitors  at home.  Despite the team’s poor position in the league, we are really struggling hard to survive  relegation this season,” he said

Continuing, he said “Like I have always said, relegation is not in our agenda this season. We are doing every thing  within our power to ensure things get better for us. I once told you that our problem started with poor officiating from the referees, but  I thank God that aspect has been rectified a bit. Now we have players  capable of doing  exploit for the team, especial in Sunday’s  match  and I am confident that  no team will come here and beat us again” he boasted.

Bosso tips Pillars for 2011 league title

Kano Pillars Head coach Ladan Bosso  who is excited about the current position of his side has said  that the recent form of the team is as a result of the early detection of players’  lapses.  Stressing that the team is waxing stronger at the moment, Bosso said they are  very much on course to get to top and clinch this year’s league  trophy.

“I thank God that the team is waxing stronger by the day. Having finished poorly in the first phase of the league, we came to understand out lapses and worked hard on it. It is not over yet because the  league is still on. The beginning of the season was  very rough for us but thank God we were able to identify one or two problems from the players. As you can see now the difference is clear, we are almost there.

As far as I am concerned, the league title is still open. Before the end of the first round we were on the 11th position,  about 17 points behind the first position. Now we are just two points behind the first position. I think with the  determination from the boys, the sky is going to be out limit,” he assured.
