In a bid to offer sharper images at any angle, electronic manufacturing company, LG last week unveiled the world’s first certified flicker free 3D TV.

The new television comes with a CINEMA 3D glasses that weighs 16 grams.

With the TV, viewers will no longer experience dizziness, nausea or discomfort while watching television. The new product which has the capacity to eliminate flickers through the viewing glass, allows the views to freely indulge in 3D images for an extended time without dizziness or weariness.

Unveiling the new TV, Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka described the new Cinema TV as a celebration of creativity by LG. He said technology is a two edged sword that enhances life and can also be dangerous to life and cautioned on its use and application.

“I see technology as a challenge because human ingenuity has continued to grow beyond bounds. Unfortunately, we are lagging behind in this part of the world. Cinema is an art that depends on technology. For the past two decades, cinema has been feeding thousands of lives across the world, who do not depend on minimum wage,” he stated.

Professor Soyinka who saw the launch as a challenge to Nigerian local IT manufacturers, said that Nigeria needs a quantum leap in artistry to be able to meet up with the level developed nations had gone in technology advancement.

“We need a quantum leap in artistry to meet the the quantum leap other nations have attained in technology. I see this launch as a challenge for Nigeria to transcend to the modern technology.

Managing Director of LG Electronics, Mr. John Lee told the audience that the introduction of the CINEMA TV was an affirmation of LG’s commitment to its customers, movie industry and dealers that that it is putting a new step in technology that will add value to their lives, like nobody had ever done before.

“We are committed to innovation and adding value to our numerous customers across the globe,” he posited.
