IBADAN – OYO and Osun State governments met yesterday to find solution to the lingering Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, LAUTECH ownership crisis between the two states.

At an emergency meeting in Agodi, Oyo State Government House, the two governors deliberated over the predicament of the institution’s medical students among other issues.

A statement by the Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Oyo State Governor, Dr. Festus Adedayo, said pressing issues between the two states, especially the ownership of the LAUTECH, were discussed.

He said the immediate problem of the medical students; the challenge facing nurses and laboratory scientists due the actions of the former government of the state.

Some of the problems prevented the students from completing their studies for eight years as examinations were not conducted and medical students who needed a re-sit examination did not have the opportunity.

Other issues discussed included the accreditation for medical faculty, ownership and management of the university.
