The senate president who was in kebbi to commemorate with the people on the occasion of 25th anniversary of the emir of Argungun his royal highness Samaila Muhammad Mera has described the state as a peace hub in the country.

Senator Lawan, disclosed this on Thursday during his courtesy visit to Kebbi State Governor, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu in Birnin Kebbi, alongside Senate Leader, Senator(Dr) Abdullahi Yahyah,Senate Chief Whip,Senator Orji Uzo Kalu,Deputy Chief Whip, Senator Sabi Abdullahi, Senator Adamu Aliero,Deputy Minority Whip,Senator Dan Baba Ibrahim, Sanator Sahabi Ya'u among others distinguished personalities that were among the Senate President team to government House Birnin Kebbi.

The Senate President and his team were in Kebbi state for the 25th years anniversary of Emir of Argungu, Alhaji Samaila Muhammad Mera on the throne and Chieftaincy titles celebration of the Senate President and Senator Orji Uzo Kalu who were confers with Ganuwan Kabi and Kibiyan Kabi respectively.

Senator Lawan, who briefed  Governor Bagudu that they are in Kebbi for two  purposes, to condole him over the death of his former Commissioner for Agriculture, late Garba Dandiga,to attend 25th anniversary of Emir of Argungu,Alhaji Samaila Muhammad Mera, said, Kebbi state remained an important state that is stabilizing Nigeria.

He said he was also in the to be turbans as Ganuwan Kabi while, Senator Orji Uzo Kalu would be turbans as Kibiyan Kabi on Friday(today) at Argungu Emir palace.

The Senate President while speaking on the important role Kebbi state is playing in Nigeria, said, “the second segment is to pay you courtesy visit. To me,it is home coming, you are our friend,you are part of us at the Senate before elected as Governor. I am happy to announce to you that Kebbi state has produced vibrant distinguished Senators. Today,one of our pillar in the 9th Senate is Senator Adamu Aliero one of your predecessors.

” I mentioned Senator Adamu Aliero name before the Senate Leader who by protocol in the senate should be first to be mentioned. But there are things you don’t take for granted. Your Excellency, you have served in the Senate and you did so in a very distinguished way. We are proud of your contributions.

Senator Aliero have been serving in the senate and we have benefited tremendously in a positive ways from his executive experience. I want to also mention here that the Senate Leader served in the 8th Assembly and now in the 9th Senate as the Senate Leader. I want to assure you, the third Senators from Kebbi who is not here,Senator Bala Ibn Na’Allah who is our Chairman Senate Committee on Air force has distinguished himself too.

” The team from Kebbi state are very solid and we are very proud of what they have been doing for us. All we want is for us to continue to work for our people and the country in general. This state is a very strategic state for us. When you have the Chairman Progressives Governor’s Forum and Senate Leader coming from the state,how much of APC can we talk about elsewhere?

“Because his is base of APC and we shall continue to urge and pray that we shall continue to unite ourselves ,work together to ensure that we deliver at all time,we should be fair to ourselves, be open to ourselves, we should talk as leaders, as stakeholders because everyone in this country in APC particular look out for Kebbi because this is the best of APC in Kebbi “.

The Senate President added that: ” as uniting agents, Senate will continue to preach for unity of this country, stressed that average Nigerians believe in one Nigeria.

According to him, “in the 9th Senate, we believed in one Nigeria,we believe Nigeria should be our focus. Right From the beginning when the 9th assembly was inaugurated, we agreed to work as one Nigeria. We should look at Nigeria as only nation we have.”.

He urged both the Senate and Progressives Governor’s Forums to be partner for the course of Nigeria.

In his remarks, Kebbi state,Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu who eulogised the achievement of the 9th assembly under the leadership of Senate President Ahmad Lawan and other Senators, noted that they need to broadcast their achievements more than before for the public to be aware of what they have done.

Bagudu,who recalled how the three Senators from Kebbi state under APC stood firmly for the emergency of the Senate President and the President Muhammadu Buhari, explained that they have been good ambassador of the state.

He noted that the state are very proud of all the House of Representatives members and the Senate from the State in their contributions to the nation development.

Bagudu said, ” we are very very proud of the achievements of the 9th Senate and we equally want the Senate to speaks out of the achievements of this present administration because many Nigerians vis-à-vis don’t understand the kind of achievements recorded by this administration”.

He commended them to have performed very well under small economy by removing Nigeria from recession and due to good legislation, they managed little resources into better use which yielded good results.
