PDP is a disciplined party – Suswam

Makurdi – Dr Terkula Suswam, the elder brother to Gov. Gabriel Suswam of Benue has described the PDP as a disciplined party.

He made this assertion in Makurdi on Monday while addressing PDP Chairmen, Women and Youth Leaders in the 23 Local Government Areas in Benue.

Suswam told them to be steadfast and hold strongly to the discipline which the party is known for at all times.

“Even in the face of provocation from the opposition parties, do not indulge in violence but embrace peace because it is the watch word of our party,” he said.

The PDP chieftain said the victory of the party at the polls was not a one man affair but a collective effort.

He said that no man is an island and therefore, the victory of Gov. Suswam and other PDP candidates was made possible by the untiring efforts of all and sundry.

“PDP triumphed because of the steadfastness of the party leaders and that is why I invited you here so as to appreciate your efforts.

“In spite of the land slide victory, the opposition parties have dragged us to court,” Suswam said.

He said that Africans hardly accept defeat in good faith even if the defeat was overwhelming or glaring.

Mr Terver Kighir, the Chairman of PDP Chairmen Forum, said that with Gov Suswam, “the dividends of democracy will trickle down to us more than what was obtained in his first term.”

Mrs Margaret Kwagh-Aondo, the PDP Women Leader assured the people that the women would continue to support Gov.  Suswam and the party without relenting. (NAN)
