I ‘ll not contest any other office in 2015 – Chime

By Tony Edike

ENUGU – GOVERNOR Sullivan Chime of Enugu State said weekend that he would not contest any other political office on the expiration of his second tenure in 2015.

Chime made this known while addressing Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, stakeholders at a meeting held at the Old Government Lodge, Enugu, ahead of tomorrow’s governorship and House of Assembly polls.

The governor, according to sources at the meeting,  told the stakeholders that he would prefer to retire quietly into private life after his eight-year tenure.

Chime said he would not seek election into the senate as he would like to give other people a chance to run and have the opportunity to serve the people.

Although the governor’s comment on his political future drew mixed reactions from some of the participants who insisted that he had a major role to play in governance, even after his present stewardship, he was said to have told the people that the decision was personal to him.
