I will pay N25, 000 minimum wage if…, says NCP Guber candidate

Ahead of the April polls, the National Conscience Party, NCP, gubernatorial candidate for Lagos state, Comrade Ayodele Akele has promised to increase the minimum wage of civil servants in Lagos state public service from its present N 18, 780 to N 25, 000, if elected into office.

Akele also promised to establish a department for the payment of unemployment benefits to the unemployed youths and the people with disability in the state.

Akele who spoke at the flag-off of his governorship campaign at the Nigerian Union of journalist, secretariat, Alausa, Ikeja.

According to him “I will pay the highest minimum wage in Nigeria to the Lagos state public servants starting with N 25, 000 minimum wage from May 29th , 2011, and to be adjusted periodically to match the rate of inflation and guaranteed job security, workers welfare and put an end to workers victimization in the country.”
