WARRI-POLICE authorities from the “A” Division Headquarters in Warri, Delta State, have charged 20 years old Oyime Victor to court for allegedly raping a 15-year- old girl after threatening to kill her with a dagger and broken bottle inside a local church.
Oyime and one other now at large committed the crime at about 9 pm in the night at the church situated on Sido street , Warri. Their crime was brought to light when the security guard of the church caught them and they took to their heels but were chased by other boys in the ghetto area, where Oyime was caught and brought to the station.
He told the Police in his statement that he did not know the other boy with whom he raped the girl, adding that he met the victim with the boy and took her away for the raw deal and pleaded for forgiveness, accepting to settle all medical expenses resulting from the assault on the girl, saying that was his first time getting involved in rape case.
Vanguard learnt that the 15-year-old girl said it was her pastor who sent her to purchase re-charge card at that time of the night when she was accosted by the boys, who took her Nokia GSM hand set and N300.00 threatened to kill her with dagger and broken bottles before forcefully having carnal knowledge of her.
