Former Senate President, Senator Ken Nnamani has denied media reports linking him with a Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, gubernatorial aspirant in Enugu State.

He also denied belonging to any faction of the PDP in the state.

In a statement, Senator Nnamani denied attending meetings or holding discussions regarding substitution of candidates.

His words, “Recent press reports associating me with an aspiring PDP gubernatorial candidate in Enugu State are completely untrue. I have never attended any meetings or participated in any discussions regarding the substitution of this reported candidate in place of the serving governor and I have never been a member of any faction of the PDP in Enugu State and have no intention of joining one now.”

He went further, “Within the party, I have attempted to build bridges not destroy them and I consider myself a democrat first and foremost. Thus I endorse the party’s duly elected candidate in Enugu state as a loyal PDP member and statesman, I endorse the party’s candidates whenever and wherever they are duly elected through party election processes”.

He however stated, “I am committed to the promotion of peace and continued development in Enugu State and it is wrong and inaccurate for anyone to associate me with any divisive factions that distract from our focus on peace and progress in Enugu and in the entire country.
