Former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives and senatorial aspirant for Rivers West senatorial district, Mr Chibudom Nwuche has called on the chairman, of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, National Assembly Electoral panel for Rivers State, Alhaji Yakubu Datti, to declare him winner of the Rivers West senatorial primaries elections held on January 7, 2011.

Chibudom in a protest letter to President Goodluck Jonathan, Dr  Okwesilizie Nwodo and Alhaji Datti, said that any attempt to change the outcome of the process or fabricate the result in favour of his opponent, Senator Wilson Ake, will negatively affect the fortunes of  PDP in the senatorial zone.

“I wish to urgently bring to your attention the barefaced manipulation of the Rivers West senatorial primaries election held on January 7, 2011 at Ahoada by officials of the party with the sole aim of upturning my victory in favour of my opponent, Senator Ake.”

“Moments before  voting started, I had pointed out to the electoral officials that there were some irregularities in the accreditation process as only one of my agents was permitted to be at the gate while the electoral officers had also refused to make available my coordinators the list of delegates from various local government areas,” he said.
