..debunks allegation of irregularities

Abakaliki—THE state chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP,  Onyekachi Nwebonyi, yesterday debunked allegation of electoral irregularities in Afikpo North and South local government areas as alleged by the opposition All Progressives Congress, APC on Sunday night.

In a chat with Vanguard, the chairman who stated that with the victory of the party in eight local government areas out of 13 so far announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, the state was already “Atikulated” and  the opposition were merely crying foul because they had failed woefully in the general elections.

Nobody declared winner in A’Ibom North West – REC

The gubernatorial candidate of the APC, Senator Sunny Ogbuoji and the Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu equally failed to deliver their wards and local government areas to the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Muhammadu Buhari as they lost to Atiku Abubakar, Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic party, PDP.

Onu’s local government, ‘Ohaozara LGA’ was said to have a total of 84,079 registered voters to which 37,256 are accredited but APC scored 2,058 votes while PDP scored a total of 33,651 votes.

The state Presidential collation Officer, Prof. Frank Chukwuma Eze made this known while announcing the results of the election collected so far at the INEC headquarters in Abakaliki.
