For demonstration of unparallel commitment  to promote quality healthcare  amongst its employees, through its workplace-wellness initiatives MTN Nigeria was last week awarded the wellness award in the healthy lifestyle category in the second edition of Indulge awards.

Speaking to Vanguard Hi-tech shortly after receiving the award on behalf of MTN Nigeria, MTN Medical Consultant, Dr. Idorenyin Oladiran described the award as a recognition of good work MTN is doing in the healthcare sector, particularly in the area of improving the well-being of its employees, irrespective of status, creed and age.

“It is something we should be very  proud of. MTN as a telecom company places high value on its employees. This is something that distinguishes MTN among other corporate organizations. It places value on everything that have to do with the employee.
“We have a very strong employee value proposition.. I have worked with so many organizations and non is like MTN in the kind of healthcare programme it has for its employees,” she stated..

Continuing, Oladiran said “regardless the number of children you have in MTN, you have full insurance cover back to back including international evacuations, when the case cannot be managed in Nigeria. I can assure you that when you that MTN staff go extra miles in what they do because of the system put in place by MTN, which gives back to the employees.
This award is related to the initiative and policy of MTN has on HIV/AIDS.”

According to her, in MTN all HIV staff and dependants  are covered back to back, even when the person passes on, saying that MTN will remain supportive even when such staff  are incapacitated they will still be receiving salary, to further prove its non stigmatization policy against HIV/AIDS patients..
