Top comedian, United Nations Goodwill Ambassador and  ‘Make A Difference Against Corruption Today (MADACT) ambassaor, Francis Agoda popularly known as I Go Dye has written yet another letter to the President, asking the No. 1 Citizen to bring to justice those who looted the country’s treasury and also questioning what have become of the returned Abacha loot.

In the letter made available to Potpourri, he writes: “The funds recovered from looters in the past   few years of your government is 739 billion naira, Abacha recovered and returned loot is   322,000,000 dollars   equivalent of 112 billion naira  ,totalling   851 billion naira. Why was the Abacha returned loot shared? Who are the beneficiaries? Why wasn’t the returned and recovered loot used to finance   some of the   basic social   problems like electricity, repairing our refineries and creating jobs   for our youths, building a world class hospital that can reduce the travelling expenses of   Nigerians   travelling abroad for medical treatment?

“Sir, if our hospitals were well equipped, you won’t be involved in foreign trips for medical check ups.   When you eventually leave office, which hospital would be standard enough to offer you these services and to other Nigerians?   Who are the looters that returned the said amount ? How come they are not facing criminal charges or being jailed?   How come   politicians alleged with 232 billion naira cases   of corruption are working for your re-election?   Is it only those that are with you, that are the presumed saints.

I want to kindly remind you   that Nigerians voted for you, not as an APC or PDP candidate but because of the trust they have in you; hoping you will bring all those that stole the public funds for our roads, hospitals, schools and other social amenities to justice. They believe that you shall fix the problems   and not by blaming those that created them.

Till date corruption is worse, it’s   winning the battle for the soul of Nigeria. I weep for my country, I wish I can remain silent, but when I see young people paraded on crime watch while the real  looters of this country live in affluence and exchanging pleasantries, I want to cry.”

In the last line of the letter I Go Dye implored the President to stand with the people as he would be remembered as a great President.

“Please use this opportunity to strengthen your values, let us all join in the fight to save our dear country from further damage because that is the only way posterity will smile on us,” he said.
