ABUJA—Justice Mudashiru Oniyangi of an Abuja high court sitting at Maitama, will on December 2, 2010, hear how a former accountant of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC, Mr. Gabriel Mosaminu Ogidan, conspired with an Abuja-based businessman to repeatedly withdraw monies from the coffers of the anti-graft agency.

The ICPC which is prosecuting its ex-staff, alongside one Mr. Babatunde Aliyu, maintained that the duo, sometime around February 2004, connived and sequentially withdrew N2 million from its treasury.

They are answering to a 4-count criminal charge bothering on conspiracy, fraud and gross abuse of public trust.
According to the commission, the offences they committed contravened sections 19 and 25 of the Corrupt Practices and other offences Act (2000).

Justice Oniyangi, who is presiding over the matter, had on October 21, granted the accused persons bail in the sum of N1 million each after they took turns to plead not guilty to the entire criminal allegations levelled against them by the anti-graft commission.
