BENIN CITY – ARMED men Thursday evening reportedly invaded Igarra, headquarters of Akoko-Edo local government area of Edo state killing 12 persons as they robbed the two banks in the town; Unity Bank and keystone Bank.
The incident was said to have happened around 4.30 pm
Vanguard gathered that the armed men had first attacked the police station which is about 1.2 kilometres from the banks.
They burnt the official vehicle of the newly posted Area Commander and killed a policeman and two detainees in the police station. Three other persons near the police station were also reportedly killed.
