By Henry UMORU, Abuja

FORMER Military President and Presidential aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida has alleged that the government of President Goodluck Jonathan was gradually tending towards dictatorship.

Babangida who also warned against the use of government apparatus to suppress perceived opposition or witch-hunt persons who are also aspiring to leadership positions, stressed that a serious should show very serious direction on very burning issues rather than character assassination.

Addressing Journalists in Abuja yesterday, the Director, Media and Publicity, IBB 2011 Campaign Organization, Prince Kassim Afegbua described the intent pulling down of IBB’s campaign billboards erected in strategic locations of Abuja and other states of Nigeria as a campaign of calumny, just as he threatened to take on the Presidency headlong on the issue.

The IBB Campaign Organization also described the treatment given to Dr. Alex Ekwueme and other South East leaders where they were locked out of Imo Concorde Hotel, Owerri as the height of state terrorism adding that the ill-treatment had further exposed the dictatorial tendencies of President Jonathan.
