ABUJA— The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Beviks Realty Limited, Engr. Ikyoon Msughter Samuel, has called on real estate developers in Abuja to prioritize quality, planning and functionality over quick sales.
Speaking recently on the company’s operations, Samuel said the growing demand for housing in the Federal Capital Territory must be matched with responsible development practices that ensure long-term value for residents.
“At Beviks Realty, we believe that real estate development should go beyond putting structures on the ground. It should be about creating spaces where people can live comfortably, safely and sustainably. Our goal is to deliver properties that provide lasting value to the people who use them,” he said.
Samuel, a civil engineer with background in site engineering, construction and project management, said his experience on construction sites shaped the company’s approach.
“My experience in engineering and construction has taught me that every detail matters. From the foundation to the planning, materials, design and final delivery, every stage contributes to the quality and functionality of a property. We are bringing that understanding into our approach at Beviks Realty,” he said.
He noted that Beviks Realty is focusing on eco-friendly and sustainable housing to respond to changing expectations of residents while considering environmental impact.
On Abuja’s rapid expansion, Samuel said the growth presents both opportunities and responsibilities.
“Abuja is growing rapidly, and that growth creates enormous opportunities for the real estate industry. But we must also ask ourselves what kind of city we want to build. We want to be part of a development process that produces not just houses, but functional, comfortable and sustainable communities,” he said.
The Beviks Realty boss stressed that the end user must remain central in property development.
“The end user must remain at the centre of real estate development. A property can look attractive and still fail to meet the practical needs of the person living in it. We want our projects to combine aesthetics with functionality, comfort and durability,” Samuel said.
He also urged greater professionalism across the sector.
“There is a need for greater professionalism across the industry. Real estate is not only about transactions; it is about creating assets that people depend on for many years. Developers must therefore be intentional about quality, transparency, planning and customer satisfaction,” he said.
Beviks Realty said it is applying modern development practices and leveraging engineering knowledge to improve delivery of real estate projects in Abuja.
