President Tinubu with Hon. Esosa Iyawe
.tell Gov Okpebolo to honour agreement
Political stakeholders in Oredo Federal Constituency have thrown their weight behind the current Member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Esosa Iyawe, urging him to seek re-election in 2027.
The stakeholders, in a statement, described Iyawe as a high-performing legislator who has delivered significant people-oriented projects and legislative interventions in his first term.
They appealed to Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, to honour what they described as an existing agreement to support Iyawe as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Oredo Federal Constituency.
The group highlighted Iyawe’s legislative contributions, noting that he has moved several motions on the floor of the House of Representatives, including those on the revitalization of Gele-Gele Seaport, mismanagement in the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), and the need to investigate the Museum of West African Arts (MOWAA) in Benin City.
He has also sponsored multiple bills, among them the National Public Asset Management Agency (Establishment) Bill, National Skills Development and Empowerment Bill, and the Digital Health Services (Establishment) Bill.
On the constituency side, the stakeholders listed several projects executed by Hon. Iyawe, including distribution of food palliatives, donation of minibuses and sewing machines, free medical outreaches, installation of street lights, renovation of classrooms, and scholarships for students.
They argued that Iyawe’s performance makes him the most suitable candidate to fly the APC flag for a second term in Oredo Federal Constituency.
The development comes as political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections begin to intensify in Edo State.
