The Borno State Government through the Executive Secretary of Borno Geographic Information Service (BOGIS), Engr. Adam Bababe says the Maiduguri Master Plan is still under review as the Service is rolling out digital land allocation at Maiduguri Ring Road, inviting investors and residents to take part in Governor Babagana Umara Zulum’s Urban Renewal Drive.
Bababe explained that, a comprehensive review of the became necessary, as the Master Plan was produced since 1980s.
Engr. Bababe stated this yesterday while addressing Journalists at the conference hall of BOGIS.
He said the seamless online sales of the the new layouts/plots of land were located along the ring road network, adding that the sales which will be in five phases compised of High, Middle and Low Density.
The low density areas according the Bababe would cost about N700,000 only while the High Density areas cost over N4 million respectively.
He noted that, all the neighborhood layout plan have all the needed basic and standard infrastructures, facilities and amenities, as the housing and environment laws and provisions required in modern housing estates would be adhered to.
The Executive Secretary noted that some of the facilities and amenities to be provided include solar boreholes, clinics, schools, recreational areas, sports ground, electricity network, water supply system, solar street lights, road network, drainage system, church and mosque as well as waste disposal units, and fire service station so as to create an enabling environment for all allotees/occupants.
Bababe further added that, already, about five (5) Estate Developers and 11 Industrial Investors including solar energy panel manufacturers, fertilizer blenders, poultry feeds and breeders, electric and gas wielders as well as automobiles among others have indicated interests, and talks have started between government and these Investors to reach a mutual understanding for economic development in the area and Borno state as a whole.
“The Maiduguri Master Plan is under review and Borno State government is rolling out online or digital land allocation for interested potential buyers at Maiduguri City Ring Road.
“We are inviting investors and residents to acquire the plots of land which are at low, middle and high density layouts.
” The low density areas would cost about N700,000 only, while the High Density areas may cost over N4 million respectively”. Bababe explained. End
