The Executive Chairman of Kosofe Local Government, Barr. Hon. Moyosore Adedoyin Ogunlewe (MAO), has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to youth empowerment and innovation during an interactive session titled “A Day With The Chairman.”
The event, held at the Kosofe Local Government Secretariat, brought together student leaders from tertiary institutions across the Kosofe Federal Constituency under the umbrella of the Greater Kosofe Students Union (GKSU). It served as a platform for dialogue on youth development, education, and participatory governance.
During the engagement, Hon. Ogunlewe launched the Kosofe Student Skills and Empowerment Initiative, a new programme designed to support students through skill-building, career guidance, and entrepreneurship. The Chairman also received the Students’ Developmental Agenda, a collaborative framework outlining key areas for partnership between the local government and student bodies.
“The future of Kosofe lies in the hands of our young people,” said Hon. Ogunlewe. “We are building pathways that connect their ideas to opportunities and their dreams to real impact.”
Discussions at the event focused on bursary schemes, youth inclusion in governance, and expanding access to digital and creative opportunities.
The event also featured the activation of a partnership between Kosofe Local Government and Finesser Ltd, a technology and innovation company working to promote youth-led projects and digital inclusion.
Group Chief Executive, CI Finesser, and MD, Finesser Ltd, praised the Chairman’s forward-thinking approach and announced plans to collaborate on the establishment of the Kosofe Creative and Digital Innovation Hub.
“Hon. Ogunlewe’s vision aligns perfectly with our goal of nurturing the next generation of creators, innovators and entrepreneurs,” he said. “The Kosofe CreativeXport Programme will empower young talents to compete globally in the creative and tech industries.”
The collaboration aims to position Kosofe as a hub for creative technology in Lagos State, fostering skills in digital innovation, entrepreneurship, and the creative economy.
