Pondi, Agediga Preach APC in Burutu, earn vote of confidence for Tinubu, Oborevwori

Rt Hon Julius Pondi, Member Representing Burutu Federal Constituency and Chairman of the House Committee on South-South Development Commission, recently embarked on a tour to orient his constituents on his transition from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC). 

This move followed his official defection on May 6, 2025, on the floor of the National Assembly.

On June 8, 2025, Pondi and his team, including Dr. Shedrack Agediga, Chairman of the Delta Bursary and Scholarship Board, visited various communities in Burutu Local Government Area. 

The tour aimed to intimate and orient his followers and constituents on his new political affiliation.

The communities visited included: Sokebolou: Welcomed by community leaders Mr. Jeremiah Isayah (Chairman, Yokiri community) and Mr. Believe Anumu (Chairman, Sokebolou community), Obotobo 1: Received by Chairman Mr. Ebiware Owolo and community leadership, Obotobo 2: Welcomed with praise singing and dancing by community women. The Chairman, Mr. James Oyibo, and chiefs appreciated Pondi for projects already sited and appealed for completion of their community Town Hall, provision of borehole water, and construction of internal roads  Ogulagha: A large gathering of Okuntu, Osain, Obuguru, Youbebe, and other adjoining communities. 

The team was graciously received and lavishly entertained.

The communities expressed appreciation for Pondi’s developmental projects and unanimously passed a vote of confidence for him, Dr. Agediga, and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori. 

The slogan “Where Hon Julius Pondi goes, we follow” resonated throughout the tour, reflecting the constituents’ trust in their lawmaker’s leadership.

During the visits, community leaders and residents highlighted ongoing projects and appealed for further support. 

The tour demonstrated strong community support for Pondi’s decision to join APC and his continued efforts in developing Burutu Local Government Area.

The exercise was indeed full of applause and recounts of different developmental projects attracted by Pondi and Dr. Agediga, not only to the communities in Ogulagha kingdom but across the 78 communities in Burutu LGA.
