BENIN CITY – A non-governmental organization SKO Promotions has called on philanthropists to always look the way of the needy saying their giving to them would never be too much.
Founder of the NGO, Kingsley Ogbebor popularly called SKO made this call at the Edo Heroes Award which he organized to mark the 2025 Bob Marley Day where an engineer and philanthropist, Lewis Akharaye was honoured.
He said the award was in recognition of his outstanding contributions and silent impact on the people.
According to him, “Engr. Lewis Akharayi is a distinguished figure whose formidable contributions to engineering and philanthropy extend across national and international boundaries. Beyond his remarkable engineering expertise, he is also a consummate professional in human resource development, having mentored, empowered, and employed individuals across the globe.
“His engineering background has been instrumental in his success as CEO of Naijcom Construction Company (Canada), Naijcom Janitorial Services (Abuja, Nigeria), and Maple Jay Nigeria Limited (Nigeria). These accomplishments represent only a fraction of his vast achievements both within and outside the country.
“Engr. Akharayi’s philanthropic efforts are particularly felt in Uhunmwode Local Government Area, his place of origin, where his humanitarian interventions have significantly impacted many lives. Despite numerous calls for him to take up public office, Engr. (Amb.) Akharayi has consistently chosen to make a difference behind the scenes, preferring humility over publicity.”
