An old student of Ogedengbe School Of Science, Ilesa, Mr Oluwaseun Famoriyo, popularly called Sabalo, on Thursday donated a block of two classrooms and a staff office building to the school as his contribution to growth of his alma mater.

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, chieftain while speaking at the event organised by Prince Sabalo Support foundation inside the school, disclosed that the building was built and donated to make teaching-learning conducive for Teachers and Students of the school.

According to him, “if learning takes place in a conducive environment, effective learning will take place and there would be effective assimilation of knowledge which would empower students to become productive in any given environment they might have found themselves.

This school contributed in no small measure to my success in life. So, this gesture is a necessity that I ought to have done before this time.

The old students who charged students of the school to be serious with their studies, described education as a necessary tools for serious-minded students to achieve greatness.

While charging them to steer clear social vices so as not to jeopardise their academic pursuits, he said hard work and diligence should be their watchword to success in their endeavours.

While commissioning the project, the elder sister of governor Ademola Adeleke, Yeyeluwa Modupe Adeleke Sanni, described the gesture as commendable and charged the donor not to relent in adding more values to humanities.

She addeed that government cannot do everything and tasked other philanthropists in the society including successful old students to also give back to their alma mater.

Also speaking, the State Commissioner for Education, Hon. Eluwole Sunday, appreciated the donor for thinking in the line of adding values to knowledge.
