The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC, has interrogated the Chairman of Kosofe Local Government, Moyosore Ogunlewe, over alleged misappropriation of multi-billion naira.
Also, six council supervisors were probed over involvement in the deal.
The invitation, it was gathered followed a petition by Ganiyu Oyebanjo, the Special Adviser on Boundary Matters for the council, who accused Ogunlewe and his aides of corruption, contract inflation, and self-enrichment.
According to Oyebanjo, despite being an executive member of the council, he submitted the petition on October 23, 2024, backed by classified local government documents.
He said, “The ICPC has invited and grilled key officials, but many executive committee members have yet to honor their summons.
“Meanwhile, there are moves to obstruct the investigation and silence potential witnesses with hefty bribes.”
The chairman of the council, Ogunlewe, could not be reach for reaction at press time as several calls put across to his mobile phone remained unresponsive.
