Samira Buhari conferred with Daurama Karama prestigious title

In a historic event that took place on the 11th of January 2025, Dr Samira Buhari, the inspirational founder of the Daurama Foundation, was honoured with the revered title of Daurama Karama.

According to a statement issued by Daurama Foundation, the prestigious recognition celebrates Dr Buhari’s remarkable contributions to society but also underscores the enduring power of compassionate leadership and cultural integrity.

The statement also explained that, “The title of Daurama Karama symbolises grace, resilience, and a deep commitment to community service. By receiving this honour, Dr.Buhari joins a lineage of esteemed leaders who have left indelible marks on their communities through visionary leadership and transformative action.”

Meanwhile, speaking at the event, HRH Alhaji Umar Faruk Umar, CON, the Emir of Daura, highlighted the importance of the occasion: “The turbaning of Dr. Samira as Daurama Karama reflects the rich heritage of Daura and the profound respect we have for leaders who embody service, integrity, and dedication.

“Her efforts in championing healthcare, education, and women’s empowerment are exemplary, and her leadership is a beacon of hope for future generations.”

The statement also made it known that Dr. Samira Buhari was turbaned alongside her brothers, Alhaji Ibrahim Salisu Buhari and Dr. Gazzali Salisu Buhari, marking a historic day for the Salisu Buhari family.

Alhaji Ibrahim received the title of Iyan Daura, while Dr.Gazzali was honoured as the Makaman Kasar Hausa, reinforcing the family’s deep rooted commitment to leadership and service.

Alhaji Ibrahim Salisu Buhari expressed his gratitude, saying: “Receiving the title of Iyan Daura is both humbling and motivating.
