With 2.7 million followers on Instagram and a stronger presence on TikTok, X and other social platforms , it is rather ironic that Adesokan Adedeji Emmanuel aka Shankcomics was once a jobless, bitter and hungry Nigerian youth.

The celebrated content creator and YouTuber let off this piece of secret in a chat with Potpourri when asked what attracted him to skits making or content creation

” To be honest, I would say Hunger. I was funny from school but I didn’t know I could take that as a career till I finished university, served as a Nigerian Corper and have no job. I had to make ends meet then I started making video. Glory be to God that I’m here today, it has not been easy but I’m grateful. Heads up always” he said.

” I just knew I was going to be rich and famous. I didn’t know how. At some point I thought I was going to become an engineer but that was never to be,” he added.

ShankComics believes his strength lies in the uniqueness of his brand of comedy which is rather uncommon and loved by people.

“I’m different. I make completely abstract comedy sketches. From my name, my videos are like comics. Lately, my youtube videos have differentiated me from most. It’s real, unscripted, and spontaneous..

” I dont have a favorite videob becaus3 alll my videos are good. I try to be better than my previous post. I’m very hard on myself. I better not post than do something that is not on my own standard. I’m in competing myself, literally,” he adds.

ShankComics currently has 2.7 million followers on Instagram, , 2.5 million on Facebook, 3.7 million on TikTok and 1.4M on X formerly Twitter. He began life as a skits maker in 2020. He has many awards to his credit, which includes Trendup Award Emerging Force 2022 and Social Media Award, Viral Slang Maker of the Year 2023.
