…We’ve plans for 18 LGAs in state

Cross River Commissioner for Works, Hon Pius Ankpo, has emphasized that the presence of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) projects in the state was primarily due to its membership within the Commission.

He noted that if Cross River was not a member of the NDDC it won’t benefit from projects from the Commission.

Ankpo who made the clarification during a press briefing in Calabar, yesterday noted that without this membership, Cross River would not have been able to benefit from the projects facilitated by the Commission.

Ankpo also commended Governor Bassey Otu for his resourcefulness in managing the state’s finances, as they had inherited an empty treasury when they assumed office.

His words : ” The Governor is doing a lot to make sure the state has quality infrastructure

“We started our first work in Ogoja LGA which is the northern part of the state , Otu is the Governor of Cross River State and not the Southern Senatorial District, our interventions and projects are state wide” he said.

Expressing satisfaction with the progress being made, Ankpo stated that the contractors chosen for the projects in compliance with the required standards are doing an excellent job.

While emphasizing the significance of their membership within the NDDC for the state, Ankpo expressed the desire to provide well-constructed roads for motorists, ensuring safe and convenient travel across Cross River.

Highlighting the importance of continuity in infrastructure development, he assured that the Bakassi deep-sea port as the signature project of the previous administration is a dream that will turn into reality, as its successful establishment would significantly benefit the state and its residents.
