By Theodore Opara

The name Lady Chukwudozie rings bell within and outside the country for various reasons, especially in the corporate world where she stands out like a collosus above her peers.

Born on June 7, 1972, into the family of Nze Humphrey and Keziah Okonkwo of Aku village, Ezenifite, in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State, Mrs Chukwudozie studied Chemical Engineering at the Institute of Management and Technology, Enugu. She later bagged a postgraduate diploma and master’s degree in Business Administration at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, and the Lagos State University, respectively.

Having equipped herself with sound education, Lady Chukwudozie stormed the corporate world and has achieved everything she set out for which has brought her to the current position of Chairman of Manufacturers Association of Nigeria, SouthEast Sector.

Her rise to stardom took a gradual and steady process. From being a factory supervisor @ DeEndy Industrial Co Ltd Taipei, Taiwan, she became the General Manager at Specialty Oil Company Nigeria Ltd, a subsidiary of Dozzy Group.

She was later appointed Executive Director, Dozzy Oil and Gas.

Behind Lady Chukwudozie’s achievements is her husband Sir Daniel Chukwudozie, who gives her every support to carry on in her endeavours.

Sir Chukwudozie, Chairman of the Dozzy Group of Companies, is an industrialist whose business interests span manufacturing, real estate, oil and gas, haulage, merchandising and hospitality, among others.

Seen by those who come across her as a woman with a heart of gold, Lady Chukwudozie is a United Nations Ambassador of Peace.

She is also a fellow of the Institute of Directors Nigeria and former board member at the Federal Polytechnic, Oko (2018-2020). She also holds many diplomas in Mandarin from Chinese Culture University and Taipei Language Institute in Taiwan and a diploma in law from the Lagos State University.

She has undergone several training programmes within and outside the country in oil trading, entrepreneurship, leadership and governance undertaken at the University of Pittsburgh in Philadelphia, USA, and the Lagos Business School.

Her passion to help humanity made her to establish a non- governmental organisation, NGO, the Association of Professional Women on Rural Development, PWORD, with the aim of making the women self-reliant and financially dependent.

She is blessed with a good family. Her children are doing well in their different chosen fields already following their parents’ footsteps.
