Heroic success of thinking-Ojo

Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo’s life has turned out to be an inspiring story of grinding poverty to amazing wealth. The story of BTO as he is fondly called is sure to make a bestselling in any clime.

He encapsulates a graphic testimony to how perseverance and hard work could bring about a turnaround in the life of any mortal being.

Being the only child of his parents, he lost his father at a tender age. This sadly placed a huge burden of responsibility on him then. Although, he realized early in life that his desire for the medal of greatness and success later in life rested solely on his own hands, without depending on anyone except God.

Tunji-Ojo is amazingly successful today, paid the requisite prices for success enroute his journey to the destination of breakthrough. It is instructive that BTO was firmly determined to make it to the top against all odds even as a young man.

According to him: “I could remember the days I used to hawk tomatoes and pepper at Oja-Oba market in Akure. I could remember that I was unable to pay for my final year examination if not for Dr Ayo Val. He is one of the key men of God that played a major role in my life”.

BTO has proven over the years as a born leader and first amongst equals who never allowed his depressing financial circumstances to weigh him down from engaging in hot pursuit of his goals in life throughout the days of his academic sojourn.

He became the leader of his peers even from primary school through secondary school. as he quickly realized the importance of education and did extremely well with his pursuits of academic excellence from the Staff Secondary School of Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) .

Tunji-Ojo was studying at the Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile-Ife before the door of a greener pasture opened for him abroad. He grabbed this opportunity with all enthusiastic zeal and moved over to the United Kingdom where he attended London Metropolitan University, UK from 2002 to 2006. He also attended Britannia Information Technology Training Academy in UK from 2004 to 2006. He equally attended Smith Health Care in UK from 2002 to 2003.

Tunji-Ojo stayed true to his vision and never allowed the attractions of foreign land to sway him from his goals and pursuits. BTO always remembered the son of whom he was by not giving into distractions of white man’s land. Determination and focus became his daily watchwords  throughout the years of his academic sojourn in a foreign land far away from home where motherly or parental advice could easily come handy.

The same exemplary commitment and demonstration of impeccable character that saw BTO through his academics also made him to excel

in his career at HSC Bank, Barclays Bank, T-Mobile across Europe. He thought it wise to return to Nigeria and add value to the society that made him. Eventually, Olubunmi came down to Nigeria to start his business after contributing so much to the building organisations in a foreign land.

BTO recorded huge business success within a short period of his return to Nigeria. The successful businessman and accomplished management consultant who was born on May 1st, being the day that is globally observed as International Labour Day. He now sits atop the management of Matrix IT and other thriving companies as the Chairman. It is worthy of note that Tunji-Ojo attained this height through hard work, resilience, and self denials.

The birthday celebrant had said in several fora that he did not go into politics for personal aggrandizement, but for the need to ameliorate the plights of his people.  Many had advised BTO to concentrate on his flourishing businesses and never contemplate the idea of taking a dive into the murky water of politics. But, the patriotic zeal in him could simply not stand the level of infrastructural decadence in the entire Akoko land.

He once bitterly lamented the state of federal roads in Akoko thus,  “The roads are so bad that people are scared of the bad road and are also scared of been kidnapped on the road, a journey that was supposed to take 5 hours is now taking 10 hours. I could remember in 2006 to 2007, driving on that road is for 5 hours, but now it is something else. It then means that once you go through that road you have wasted your entire day. So productivity wise, it is making us to be less productive.”

Tunji-Ojo contested on the platform of All Progressive Congress and was overwhelmingly elected as the  member to represent  Akoko North East/North West Federal constituency at the House of Representatives. It is worth mentioning that Bunmi Tunji-Ojo recorded overwhelming victory against all the plans, efforts and resources deployed by the state governor to ensure his failure at the polls.
