PDP’s senatorial candidate’s aide in Imo shot

An aid to the Imo state Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Imo west senatorial candidate Jones Onyereri, Nnamdi Nsorom, was attacked Thursday morning by suspected political assassins.

Vanguard was told that Nsorom, was shot at the front of Onyereri’s house behind concord Hotel in Owerri, Imo state.

The incident was said to have happened around 7am to 8am, where Nsorom reportedly sustained several gunshot injuries. He was said to have been taken to a hospital for treatment.

At the time of filling this report after Vanguard called the Director General, DG, to Onyereri, Ochiwar Jones, the DG who confirmed the development quickly said that he was in the hospital with the victim.

The Imo state PDP, publicity secretary, Damian Opara, later called back to Vanguard to confirm that the story was true.

However, Vanguard placed a call to the Imo state commissioner of police, Dazuki Galadanchi to get his reactions, but he was said to be in a meeting and that he would give his reaction later.
