The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC,‎ has reaffirmed it’s preparation for a violence-free elections ahead of Saturday.

The commision reasured Lagosians ‎of its commitment to bridge lapses in areas where elections were marred with violence and voters were intimidated through a supplementary election rerun come Saturday March 9.
In an exclusive chat with Vanguard, INEC spokesman in Lagos, Mr. Femi Akinbiyi disclosed that this week for the commission is loaded with preparations: “We have just received sensitive materials from the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN,. As we are having supplementary elections in six federal constituencies where elections were marred.”
Responding on security measures taken by the commision to cub repetiton of violence that occured in selected polling units in the last presidential and national assembly election, Akinbiyi said: “INEC is determined to improve on security this time as we are meeting with inter agencies this week to add‎ress measures that would make the elections violence free.”
