Lagos State is not called the center of excellence for anything.

The city with an estimated population of 23.42 million and the highest GDP in Nigeria with $33,679 million) is the entertainment capital and most commercial state in the country. Recently recording about N50 billion in revenue from tourism, Lagos has generated large figures from cultural and historic locations like the Nigerian National Museum, Badagry Slave Trade Museum, and others. The creative arts industry also thrives in Lagos as most musicians, actors, and filmmakers are based in the city.
