Ajimobi

Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State in a statement by his Special Adviser on Communication and Strategy, Mr Bolaji Tunji, yesterday congratulated the President for his landslide victory over his major challenger, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.

Ajimobi said, “The victory of President Muhammadu Buhari in the face of odds and inexplicable desperation by the opposition to wrest the government at the centre gladdens my heart. It is a referendum in support of integrity, good governance and the  fight against corruption. These are the values that the President and our great party, the APC, stand for and have been pursuing vigorously in the last four years.

“My appeal to the good people of Oyo State is to please vote for the APC in next Saturday’s governorship and House of Assembly elections. This will enable us to leverage on the party’s victory at the centre. Oyo State cannot afford to fall into the hands of the opposition. We have laid a solid foundation for the rapid socioeconomic development of our state and we should not wittingly take steps that will halt the momentum.

“The interest and development of Oyo State will be guaranteed when we remain with the party at the centre, judging from past experience. I’m therefore appealing to the people of the state to entrust the APC with their mandate to continue the unprecedented legacy projects.”

Akeredolu

Also,  Ondo State governor, Rotimi Akeredolu in a statement in Akure said  “Buhari’s victory in the keenly contested presidential election signifies the acceptability of his leadership by the majority of Nigerian citizens.

The governor in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary Segun Ajiboye,  said the “victory belongs to all Nigerians irrespective of their ethnic and religious beliefs.

He experessed optimism that the next level promised Nigerians by President Buhari would indeed take the country to unprecedented height.

Similarly, APC Chairman in Ondo State, Ade Adetimehin described the re-election of President Buhari, as “a robust victory for economic and infrastructural development” in Nigeria.

Adetimehin said the election of the President for a second term, against all odds, affirmed the acceptance of the APC, and acknowledgment of the performance of President Buhari.

He viewed the combination of President Buhari and Professor Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, as divine arrangement for the emancipation of a country once invaded by political holocaust.

Fayemi

For Ekiti State governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, the  President’s victory was a reward for sincere leadership, saying the re-election of the President “was an attestation to the fact that Nigerians appreciate his efforts at making life more comfortable for the people of the country in the last four years.”

Fayemi, in a statewide broadcast yesterday, said the Nigerians had demonstrated that given a choice, they would readily choose a sincere leader who cares for their wellbeing above other considerations.

Fayemi said: “The Nigerian people know President Buhari as a honest leader and have demonstrated their trust in his ability to take them to the next level of development and prosperity. It is a new day and a new season and I congratulate Mr President for the victory and the entire Nigerian people for their courage and steadfastness and for their determination to deepen democracy in the country.”

Ambode

In the same vein, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State, congratulated President Buhari and Vice President Osinbajo, for their resounding re-election victory.

According to the governor,  in a congratulatory message, released  by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Habib Aruna, “The victory was not just a confirmation of the people’s love for President Buhari, but an attestation that Nigerians were happy with the progress the Federal Government has made in the last four years.
