Brothers and sisters in Christ, we are all welcome to the ember months. What do they signify? The months simply indicate that we are moving towards the end of the year. My prayer for you and your household is that you will end the year joyfully in Jesus name.
However, the ember months also gives us opportunities to have critical self-assessment. Have you achieved what you set out to achieve? Is there any indication that you are likely to achieve your goals before the year ends? Or have you been stagnant?
Brethren, no Pastor can help you answer these questions. Only you can critically assess yourself. Remember, the greatest disservice you can do to yourself is to deceive yourself. For someone reading this article, you have done everything and the answer seems not to be coming. You have even come to the conclusion that God has forgotten you.
Hebrews 6 vs. 10 gives us the reason God will not forget you “ For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward the name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister”.
The journey of life for Man can be likened to that of the children of Israel when they moved out of Egypt. They knew they were going to a promised land but they encountered several challenges, though they still got to the Promised Land.
Brethren, the truth is everyone has one issue or the other that makes life stormy.
Whereas, some single ladies and men are looking out for life partners, several married women are waiting on the Lord for children. Many married women are enduring their marriage instead of enjoying it.
Many, are working like elephants and eating like ants. Whereas, their counterparts are making it big in business, they are sinking into debt.
For others, it is health challenge. What do you say to a multi millionaire, who had been confined to the wheel chair as a result of health challenges? When you meet someone like this, then you would not take the grace of God that has given you good health for granted.
Whatever you may be going through, what is certain is that God has not forgotten you.
Deuteronomy 4 vs. 31 tells us “ For the LORD thy God is a merciful God;) he will not forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them”.
Sometimes, challenges can really make us break down especially when we have done everything within your powers and sought the help of others and all have produced no results. If you are not strong in faith, you will be tempted to ask is the presence of God real?
Again I refer to the book of Deuteronomy 31 vs. 6 “ Be strong and of good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee nor forsake thee”.
I’ll share with you the testimony of a woman who was married but waiting on the Lord for children. While she consulted doctors, she used every opportunity she had to attend weekly church services.
One day, during a deliverance programme, a word of knowledge was pronounced from the Altar. The man of God said “ There is a woman here, your mother in law will visit you with the intention to pick up a quarrel with you, if you fight with her, that will be the end of your marriage”.
Brethren, let’s appreciate our God. He protects his own. Unknown to this woman, her mother in-law and her husband’s siblings have been planning to come and throw her out of her matrimonial home but because she heard the word of God and held on to it, they failed.
The mother in law actually came but the Spirit of God disarmed her. Her plans failed. The plans failed because the Spirit of Truth had revealed their plans to the daughter of God.
As I write today, the woman has children including a set of twins. The marriage coup plotters, who wanted to throw her out, now call her “ Mummy twins”.
In the name of Jesus every enemy of your progress will live to see the wonders of the Lord in your life very soon.
There was also the story of another woman who had similar challenges. Her offense was that she married her husband in spite of opposition from his family members.
One day, in her dream, she saw someone point a dagger to her. The aggressor wanted to kill her. It happened so suddenly that all she could do in the dream was to shout JESUS. When she woke up, she found her Holy Bible, which was under her pillow in her hand, held out as it to stop the dagger.
The woman herself was surprised but she knew God had saved her.
Proverbs 18 vs. 10 “ The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it and is safe”.
Do you have a relationship with Jesus? If not, brethren, it is not too late to embrace Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
Once you are in a relationship with the Lord you will find yourself succeed where others have failed. That challenge that seems to have defied human solutions will become your testimony, only believe in God and demonstrate your faith in him.It is only God that can do what no man can do.
Remember the lame man at the gate of the temple called Beautiful. Men and women have been giving him alms but none could make him work but when he had an encounter with Peter and John, his story changed.
Acts 3 vs. 5&6 “ And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them. Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk”.
What happened thereafter, Verses 7 &8 “ And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. And he leaping up stood, and walked and entered with them into the temple, walking and leaping and praising God”.
As the name of Jesus gave the lame man joy, it will give you that desire of your heart when you least expected in Jesus name.
Brethren, there is nothing that you are going through that another person has not gone through. Let your mind remind you that if Mrs. A. can have a break through, you too will, as you hold on to Jesus.
Only find time to meditate on the word of God and when you do, pay special attention to cases similar to yours. For couples waiting on the Lord for children, the stories of Sarah and Hannah should be of interest to you.
Draw as many prayer points as you can from their stories and you will soon testify. Are you being cheated in your office? Is someone denying you your dues? Get familiar with the story of Jacob and his uncle Laban and how God intervened for Jacob.
I’ll share with you a testimony of a young man. He wrote, “ The devil has been tormenting me with smoking and drinking. One fateful day, I walked into a parish of RCCG in Okokomaiko and the pastor prayed for me. To the Glory of God, I was delivered and set free”.
The September Holy Ghost night of RCCG scheduled to hold at the Redemption Camp on Friday, September 7, is for women trusting God for the fruit of the womb. Be there, invite others and God will visit you and put laughter into your home in Jesus name.
May the Lord bless us all this month and beyond in Jesus name.
