A GOVERNORSHIP aspirant on the platform of All Progressives Congress, APC, in Delta State, Dr. Iyke Odikpo has said that the intervention of the party’s National Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole is achieving positive results in the state chapter of APC, cautioning against anything capable of plunging the party into another crisis.
He also noted that stakeholders in the state had put their differences aside with a view to winning the governorship and other elective positions in the state.
Odikpo, in a chat with Vanguard, urged party members in the state, to see the forthcoming 2019 general election as a personal project that requires sacrifice.
His words: “APC is one big family in spite of shared sentiments in some quarters. As a family, we need to work together in accord and have a common front.
‘’In taking over Delta State in 2019, we have to be united and focused. An indispensable factor is a directional and visionary governorship candidate, who will lead us to Unity House, Asaba to effect the much-needed change in the state.
‘’Before we go to the battlefield to face our common foe in the general elections of 2019, let us unanimously give our support to a competent, credible and visionary candidate during the primaries.
“The intervention of the national chairman has actually brought calm to APC in Delta State. And we hope to continue on that path of peace. We need a united fold to be able to emerge victorious. I am very confident of getting the ticket. We need to work together to be able to defeat the PDP. This should be seen as a personal task that should be carried out with commitment.”
