Wilfred Ndidi has thanked the Blue Army for sticking by their team through a season of ups and downs.

The Super Eagles midfielder, who was named young player of the year at the club’s awards night on Tuesday, says the club’s young players are learning as they go and said they appreciated the patience of the supporters.

Ndidi is expected to miss the rest of the season with a hamstring injury he picked up in the disappointing defeat at Crystal Palace last weekend, but he said the players were determined to end the season positively.

“It feels great to win the award,” he said.

“It’s a proud moment for me. I’m very happy about it.

“The fans have been fantastic. I would like to say thank you to them for all their support for the team.

“There have been a lot of ups and downs but I would say the main thing is that we are safe.
