Plateau State Government has procured 400 tractors with the intention of giving same to assist farmers in this year’s farming season.

Governor Simon Lalong, who inspected the tractors alongside other projects lined up for commissioning as President Muhammadu Buhari visits the state today, noted that the tractors will ease farmers’ suffering and ensure bumper harvest.

According to him, “we have special intervention in agriculture and this is key to Mr. President and so we have ordered 400 brand new tractors to be given to farmers.

“You are also aware that by next year, the nation is expecting Plateau State to start exporting potatoes, so the scheme is already working.

“We are revamping the education and health sectors, and will continue to do more for our people.”
