Auctioning of vehicles not political — Uduaghan

By Jeremiah Urowayino

The Delta State Commissioner for Transport, Mr. Vincent Uduaghan, has frowned at what he  described as misconception attributed to the auctioning of unserviceable vehicles by the state government, noting that adequate information concerning the vehicles were made public.

Uduaghan, made this known in an interview with journalists yesterday in Asaba.

According to him, auctioning of unserviceable vehicles is constitutional, adding that all procedures required by law were considered before such auctioning was determined.

He also emphasised on the essence of privatisation of Delta Line company, noting that the government in its desire to strengthen the operations of Delta Line took the bold step to divest 60% of her ownership in the company.

His words:”Due process was followed by placing advertisement in national and state owned newspaper, calling on interested bidders or investors to indicate interest. The process was religiously followed to the letter, with the privatization process still on –going.
