Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr said goalkeeper, Ikechukwu Ezenwa may have cemented his place in the squad to the Russia 2018 World Cup with his spectacular performance in the CAF Africa Nations Championship quarter-final match against Angola.

Ezenwa, made several saves that kept Nigeria in the game the Super Eagles were on the verge of losing after going down 1-0 to the Angolans.
“Ezenwa has demonstrated that he deserves a place in the World Cup. His excellent saves kept the team in the game.
“The Eagles had to chase the game and they did well scoring and winning the match. The team spirit is just like that of the Super Eagles A team,” Rohr said after the game in Tangier.
Ezenwa, who is captaining the home-based Super Eagles at the tournament, walked away with the Total Man of the Match accolade at the end of the game.
“I’m happy with my performance and having Gernot Rohr here watching, I believe that will help me with the senior national team,” Ezenwa said.
