To further sustain the growing interest in Mathematics by the relevant groups, Einarsson informed that the company launched the Cowbellpedia Compendium, a compilation of solved questions from past Cowbellpedia Secondary School Mathematics TV Quiz Show editions for each category. This is to improve proficiency of students in Mathematics and commemorate the 20th anniversary. The Cowbellpedia Compendium is also available in e-book format.

Einarsson maintained that the Cowbellpedia Secondary School Mathematics TV Quiz Show is open to students in JSS 3 and SSS2 from 10-18 years of age attending full time secondary education in both public and private schools in Nigeria.

While entry into this competition is free, candidates have two stages to reach the final and win the ultimate prizes. Stage 1 is the Qualifying Written Examination while Stage 2 is the TV Quiz Show.

“For the Stage 1, we are continuing with the initiative that we started in 2016 for mixed secondary schools to nominate a minimum of two girls for each category to represent such school. This is our own little way of encouraging the girl-child to take interest in education especially the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) courses,” he said.

Einarsson also announced that the company has raised the bar with a 100 per cent increase in prize money for this year’s edition as winners in both categories would now receive N2,000,000 (Two million naira) and an all-expense paid educational excursion outside the country, while the first and second runners-up would receive N1,500,000 (One million, five hundred thousand naira) and N1,000,000 (One million naira) respectively.

The teachers of the top prize winners will win N500,000 (Five hundred thousand naira) while those of the first and second runners-up will receive N400,000 (Four hundred thousand naira) and N300,000 (Three hundred thousand naira) respectively.

The Promasidor boss also assured that the company would continue to stimulate the interest of young Nigerians in the study of Mathematics and Cowbellpedia as a demonstration of its commitment to the total development of the Nigerian child.

In his remarks, Abiodun Ayodeji, Promasidor’s Marketing Manager, announced that registration for this year is strictly online and the portal for registration is open and would be closed on February 11,2018 while the qualifying examination would take place nationwide on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at designated centres.
