DUTSE—THERE are indications of the emergence of Hashimiyya movement in Jigawa State chapter of All Progressives Congress, APC.

It was also learned that the movement vowed to support the candidature of only President Muhammadu Buhari in the 2019 elections.

Ubale Hashim, who made the declaration, alongside other party big-wigs last weekend, said: “I am formally announcing my support to only President Muhammadu Buhari in the 2019 polls and no other candidate will enjoy this support from the Hashimiya movement.

“The emergence of Badaru Abubakar as governor of Jigawa State was not the popular view of all members of the party, but for peace to reign, we supported the governor. Along the line, we realised that the present administration in the state is no longer popular to continue with the APC agenda.”

He explained that the governor had twice visited him and that they both agreed to resolve their differences in the general interest of the people of the state, but declared that the governor has refused to keep his part of the bargain.

Gov reacts

Contacted, Special Assistant to the Governor on Social Media, Auwal Danladi Sankara, said there was never a time Governor Badaru failed to honour any of the promises made to the people of the state.

“If his claims were genuinely for the interest of the people, he ought to have mentioned where the governor had failed to execute certain projects after he had promised to do so,” Sankara said.
