27-yr-old arrested for impersonating Abba Kyari, DIG, AIG

We've no hand in Mile-2 shooting - Lagos taskforce boss

UGHELLI—POLICE have arrested one Ushie, aged 27, in Delta State for impersonating the Head of the Intelligence Response Team, IRT of the Nigeria Police, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari, and other Deputy Inspector and Assistant Inspectors General of Police in the South-South.

The suspect was arrested at about 3a.m., last Friday, at Asaba, the Delta State capital.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Andrew Aniamaka, promised to get back with more details on the incident, he was yet to do so at press time.

Giving details of the arrest, a senior Police officer at the state Command, who spoke on condition of anonymity, disclosed that the suspect confessed to have been in the act for the past three years.

The suspect also confessed he was arrested in 2015 for the same crime and was subsequently charged to court, where he was granted bail.”

Confirming the arrest, Kyari on his Facebook page, said: “Last week, I alerted you friends about someone, who had opened a Facebook account with my picture and name to defraud innocent Nigerians.

“After investigations, we arrested the fraudster at 3a.m today (Friday) in Asaba.”
