THE Ijaw People Congress, IPC, has faulted alleged moves by Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Burutu Local Government Area, Delta State, to impose candidates in Ayakoromo ward, Burutu, noting that the party was yet to conduct councillorship primary in Ward 7.

IPC’s National President, Mr. Ekanpou Enewaridideke, called on Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to ensure that a primary election was conducted for councillorship candidates to emerge.

His words: “Ward 7 is known in Delta State for the democratic culture of conducting PDP party councillorship primaries. Now there is a move to impose their choice candidate on Ward 7.

“This plot is contrary to the clear position of Governor Okowa.”
