Yaya Toure’s agent, Dmitri Seluk has chided Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola for leaving the midfielder out of Wednesday night’s Champions League victory at Feyenoord.

Guardiola is understood to be unhappy with Toure’s performance levels in training and has challenged him to improve. He did not even make the bench against Liverpool last weekend, with Guardiola claiming the player “knows the reason why”.

And the Spaniard further claimed there are “sporting reasons” behind Toure’s exile.

But Seluk has refuted that, posting on Twitter: “Yaya is in great shape. He will prove it. He is fit to play. It’s up to Guardiola to decide.”

Toure signed a one-year contract extension
