ASABA—FEW weeks after he survived alleged assassination attempt, the Senator representing Delta Central senatorial district, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, has returned to Ekpan, Effurun and Ugberikoko markets, Uvwie Local Government Area of the state to complete his aborted empowerment programme.
Speaking during the empowerment programme, Omo-Agege said that the beneficiaries were his constituents and must benefit from the programme, expressing his resolve to continue to add value to the lives of his constituents.
The Senator, who also went to Kokori, Eku and Abraka markets, empowered over 600 persons with N20,000 each amounting to N12 million.
He charged the people to continue in their support for the APC-led Federal Government.
Omo-Agege told his constituents that the empowerment programme was in fulfilment of his campaign promises, saying “I do not have executive powers otherwise I will have done more for you. Nevertheless, I am quite prepared to share my salary and emoluments with the less privileged amongst my constituents.”
Noting that the anti-corruption crusade of the President Buhari administration had brought sanity to the country’s political terrain, he said the current administration was working hard towards revamping the Nigerian economy and restore morality to the society.
In another development, Senator Omo-Agege has urged the warring people of Aladja and Ogbe-Ijoh communities to sheathe their swords and live together in peace.
