Though he’s been a Paris Saint-Germain player for a few weeks now the spectre of Neymar is still haunting Barcelona, and the Catalan club are due back in court to discuss the bonus payment relating to the renewal of his contract with the Blaugrana in late 2016.
The first case between player and club was settled with Barcelona assuming the blame for tax fraud, but the DIS case is still open – also relating to corruption and fraud.
Now, there is general disagreement with the amount that should be paid over to the Brazilian.
Corresponding to the second part of the agreement they made with Neymar Sr., father and representative of the striker, before signing the renewal, Barcelona not only believe that they don’t need to pay the 26 million euro amount of that deal, but they are also suing Neymar and his father for 8.5m euros in damages.
The matter was brought to FIFA, and now all parties will need to attend a conciliation meeting on Tuesday in court.
