PDP aspirant, Dr. Alex Obiogbolu, has further expressed confidence in winning the ticket of the party if the primaries are conducted fairly even as he described the experience of picking the nomination form of the party at the National Secretariat as a homecoming for him.
Speaking with Vanguard in Onitsha, Dr Obiogbolu said he was however, “humbled by the changes in the environment of the party’s National Secretariat, the conducive environment that was filled with the party’s vibration, a lot of PDP members and members of staff, it was like a home coming for him and to the staff like welcoming an old face known to all of them.”
On his chances in the primaries, he said: “I am of the view that if the party congress is democratically conducted that obviously the party as popular and grass rooted as it has been, the election will be a mere formality for it because APGA in no more on the ground in the state, while APC is trying to find its fit.”
He appealed to the National leadership of the party to ensure that the party’s constitutions and guidelines are followed in the conduct of the primary elections that will produce the party’s candidate, and quite obviously the issue of double candidature which opponents use to tackle the party will not occur.
You know stakeholders of the party have met and resolved that the issue of double candidature will never repeat itself in our party.
