Onuzurike Oluomachi, the Chief Executive Officer of Bo Hair Extension and Accessories, may verily need an introduction to the media world but in the virgin hair business space where she operates she is something of a colossal force.
She started her business at an early age in Umuahia, Abia State. In fact the whole story started with her mother who single handedly raised her. Her mother, Nkechi Nwoke was a caterer who had a shop where she sold food. It was when the mother developed a health crisis that fate cast on her the opportunity to hold the mantle of the business as she was pushed into a position where she had to cater to her mother, all by herself.
At the time her mother couldn’t go on as a result of the health issue, Onuzurike Oluomachi was at the university. It was an herculean task combining her education with catering to her mother and running the business. According to her, she had to make the journey everyday from Umuahia to Uturu, a stretch of a little journey.
My mum was a caterer and also had a restaurant, which I assisted her in running. After she got ill I had to carry on with the business while still schooling as it was our only source of income. Life hit me hard, you know how difficult it is caring for a stroke patient. When she couldn’t walk, I had to bath her, feed her, got her drugs and also make sure she took them.
It was a challenging point in my life. So, when I finished with the university I took full responsibility of the restaurant and was also doing outdoor catering. I did that for 2 years, saved up some money and then decided to look for a much more lucrative business and then boom, I ventured into the hair business, because the restaurant business was very time consuming and quite strenuous for me, she recalled in an interview with VANGUARD.
Onuzurike Oluomachi founded her business, Bo Hair Extension and Accessories in 2016. Her journey began in Umuahia, Abia State. As the business boomed she expanded to Uyo, Awka Ibom State where she has carved a niche for herself as one of the leading brands in the business.
She was born on March 14, 1995 to Mrs Nkechi Nwoke. She attended Mayfair Academy for her elementary education before proceeding to Abia State University, Uturu, Abia State for her first degree where bagged a Bachelor’s degree in political science
Onuzurike Oluomachi hails from Igbere, Uzuakoil Abia State.
