CSR: Koko indigenes benefit from Total’s scholarship

TOTAL Nigeria Plc has provided scholarship for six students of Koko origin in Delta State to support their secondary schools education.

The 2016/2017 Koko Scholarship examination was held at the Iwere College Hall in Delta State.

The selection interview had seven schools from across Koko in attendance with 104 first year junior secondary school students (JSS1) participating.

The schools included:  Iwere College, Koko, Christ the Savior School Koko, Baptist High School, Koko, Beach College Koko, St. Michael’s Secondary School Koko, Aunty Kate School Koko and Christian World Modern College, Koko.

According to the company, “28 students at various levels of their secondary education are currently benefitting from the scheme.

“With this year’s selection interview, another 6 students of Koko origin who benefited from the scheme has brought the total number of beneficiaries to 34.

“The examination was conducted under the supervision of the Koko Community Management Authority (KCMA) Education Sub-Committee.  The examination supervision was assisted by some teachers and youth corps members from Koko.

The exam was immediately scored and winners emerged same day.  Formal notification will be sent to the schools and the parents of beneficiaries.”
