ABUJA – SERVICE Chiefs Thursday met under closed-door with the Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo at the Presidential Villa, Abuja and promised to re-stategize in the fight against insurgency in the North East, so as to curtail attacks from the terrorists especially the new wave of suicide bombing.

Acting President Yemi Osinbajo (M) Minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, Minister of Defence, Brig Gen Mansur Dan-Ali and all the Security Service Chiefs during a security meeting with Service Chiefs at the State House in Abuja.
To that effect, the Security Chiefs have promised to provide more surveillance devices, cameras that will be able to see distant attackers coming to the position of our troops.
The Security Chiefs who noted that rainy season was not a friendly period for them, promised to take back areas that appeared to be under the control of the terrorists.
Speaking to State House Correspondents after the ckosed-door session with the Acting President, the Minister of Defence, Mansur Dan-Ali said, “We just finished a meeting with the Acting President and the three Service Chiefs. We agreed that they should move back to the Command Centre again and see what are the things happening there.
“We have also agreed that we should get more surveillance devices, cameras that will be able to see distant attackers coming to the position of our troops.
“So also the period of the raining season is a difficult moment for us. We cannot dominate the environment like what we do during the dry season but effort is geared towards the regaining back our areas and we assure that all these ambushes that are happening regularly would be stopped.”
Present at the meeting aside the Minister of Defence, were the Chief of Defence Staff, CDS, Chief of Army Staff, COAS, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai, Chief of Naval Staff, CNS, Admiral Ibok Ibas and the Chief of Air Staff, CAS, Air Marshal Sadiq Abubakar.
